The bickering boozers, who co-starred in “The Getaway,” tied the knot in 1973.
They were considered one of Hollywood’s hottest couples, but were divorced just five years later , shortly before the troubled star’s death from a rare form of lung cancer in 1980.
Steve was married when he first came to Hollywood, but cheated on first wife Neile Adams from day one — with Neile later saying: “He made no secret of it.”
But that didn’t keep the actor from being jealous of his wife. He once even viciously beat Neile for having an affair with actor Maximilian Schell.

When she got pregnant, Steve forced Neile to get an abortion because he wasn’t sure if he was the father. That volatile marriage finally came to an end in 1971.
After marrying Ali, Steve insisted that his former co-star give up acting so that she could have dinner waiting on the table every night at 6 p.m.
Later, said Ali, “I realized my marriage to Steve was a mistake when I got to witness the anger and hostility he carried around inside him.”
But now, 79-year-old Ali adds that “there were many times that were just wonderful, and there were many times that were just ghastly!”
