Kate Middleton is undergoing secret treatment for her eating disorder after her husband William demanded that she get help — or get a divorce! Now palace insiders say her decision has brought the couple closer together than ever, and may even save the 89-pound beauty’s life. “This is a total turnaround for Kate,” a member of their royal court told The National ENQUIRER.

“She was in denial, insisting she wasn’t forcing herself to throw up,” continued the insider, “and refused to even discuss the issue.” William was terrified for Kate’s health — especially since his beloved mother, the late Princess Diana, secretly battled an eating disorder during her marriage to Prince Charles.

“William sees jarring similarities between his mom and his wife,” said the courtier. “Both struggled to cope with life in the fish bowl that is the royal family. The pressure on Kate has only increased since William was named Queen Elizabeth’s official successor a few weeks ago. [She] feels she has to be perfect — and has been forcing herself to vomit to keep a perfect figure.”

After a knock-down, drag-out fight with William, an innocent question from 3-year-old Prince George changed everything, the courtier said: “George wandered into the kitchen and caught Kate in tears — with bandages on her fingers, which is a sign of people suffering from binge-and-purge disease. ‘What’s wrong, Mommy?’ he asked. ‘You got a boo-boo?’”

“Kate realized right there she couldn’t go on the way she was,” the source told The ENQUIRER. “She wasn’t eating or sleeping. She had bags and dark circles under her eyes from crying and she was risking hurting George and his baby sister, Princess Charlotte.”

“As soon as William returned home, she told him he was right, she needed help,” reported the insider. “William pulled her into his arms and whispered, ‘I love you.’ “And in that instant, their troubles seemed to fade away.”

Now the couple have a live-in therapist who is teaching Kate how to cope — and how to eat. But make no mistake, their fairy tale marriage was in crisis, said an insider, noting how the royal couple was reeling after Kate miscarried unborn twin girls in November.

“So much happened so fast, they simply couldn’t cope,” said another insider. “They couldn’t have a conversation without fighting! But now that arrangements are being made for Kate to have private treatment, she and William have kissed and made up,” reported the source. “Thanks to little George, the new year looks very bright — and very healthy — as they prepare to ascend the throne this summer.”
