Even as Jim and the Irish beauty began dating in 2012, pals were worried that the funnyman was hellbent on his own self-destruction. “When you talk to him," an insider said in 2013, "he’s not as animated as he used to be. He seems at a low point — like a ship without a rudder.” And while Jim tried to commit to Cathriona, close pals said that he was still pining for former “Playboy” playmate

But that decision came too late — and Cathriona would address her suicide note to Jim while bitterly blaming him for her depression: “I’ve spent three days now in disbelief that you’re not here," she wrote. "I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don’t have the will this time.

"I don’t really know about burial," Cathriona added, discussing the funeral that would eventually be paid for by her famous lover. "You are my family, so whatever you choose will be fine. I’m sorry you felt I wasn’t there for you. I tried to give you my best part. Please forgive me. I’m just not for this world.”

And in another cruel twist for Jim, the lawsuit filed by Cathriona's husband even accuses Jim of lying about taking care of the burial — claiming: "Carrey and his handlers made considerable efforts to publicize his supposed generosity as it related to the death of White. They did so ... in an effort to paint Carrey as a 'grieving good guy,' as opposed to the individual who had illegally obtained and
provided the drugs that killed White!"
