One of the Clintons’ former Secret Service agents is preparing a defamation lawsuit against some of his biggest critics!
Gary Byrne (in glasses at left in above photo) recently published a controversial tell-all book, “Crisis of Character,” about his time working with the Clintons in the ‘90s. Byrne claimed Hillary Clinton showed “dangerous” behavior. One example he cited was when “The First Lady took a surprising liking to firearms, especially a Thompson submachine gun.”
The agent claimed he witnessed Hillary “let loose a spray of man-stopping .45 ACP rounds into the paper, dirt, and berms of our outdoor one-way range.”

But detractors of Byrne and defenders of Hillary heavily criticized the book. David Brock, and his “media watchdog” group Media Matters for America, were critical of Byrne for several contradictory claims made within the book. One of those alleged contradictions was that “Byrne asserted competing versions of his story were ‘both the truth.’”
But Byrne has now sent notices to Media Matters for America — and Brock — claiming that he plans to file a lawsuit against them. “Officer Byrne will bring legal action against you, in your personal capacity, and against Media Matters,” Byrne’s lawyer wrote to Brock, according to the New York Post.

In the letter, Byrne asks that both Brock and Media Matters “hold” any records and communications related to Byrne, this includes “communication(s) between David Brock and The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton.”
The former bodyguard is also demanding that Brock “immediately and publicly retract any statement or inference by yourself and/or Media Matters to the effect that Officer Byrne was not fully truthful in recounting within ‘Crisis of Character’ details from any previous testimony.”

Byrne also insists he was, in fact, in close proximity to Bill Clinton — adding: “…some of our best witnesses to such immediacy are George Stephanopoulos, John Podesta, Leon Panetta, Bruce Lindsey, Hillary Rodham Clinton and President Clinton himself — who appear to have already confirmed … under oath … the regular proximity of Officer Byrne to the President for many years,” his lawyer wrote.
Though Byrne has yet to receive any official retraction statements, he told the Post that he would be “moving forward with the suit” and that his goal is to “get the message out — that everything in my book is true.”
