Donald Trump’s Secret Service team rushed in when the driver for a White House press corps van showed up with a gun in his possession!
Washington Post reporter Josh Dawsey reported that the driver of the van was part of a planned motorcade outside Trump’s resort in Palm Beach, Fla./
The driver was then “detained after Secret Service found a gun in his bag. Another driver grazed a parked car in the lot. POTUS is now dropped off at golf course.”
Mar-a-Lago security confirmed the events of the morning of Feb. 19 – and a press pool reporter later said that the gun was the personal property of the driver, with the armed driver telling officers that “he forgot to leave his gun inside his own car.”
White House staff later reported that the driver had been barred from the resort property. All other drivers scheduled for the day had been replaced as the Secret Service continued to investigate the bizarre incident.
Trump himself had reportedly spent the weekend at the resort reaching out to members there — asking them about views on gun control in the wake of the horrific murder of three adults and 14 students at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., on Feb. 14.
