One of the secret insecurities Gabor battled throughout her life was the fear of not living up to her mother Jolie’s expectations. As a child, her mother tossed her off a boat for a swimming crash course, forced her into talent shows, and even made her and her sisters take turns holding their mother’s hand. “Each time Zsa Zsa was faltered, she believed that she was letting her mother down, disappointing her terribly,” reveals Peter H. Brown, author of Such Devoted Sisters: Those Fabulous Gabors, revealed in 1989, according to The Examiner. “The master plan also left the girls anxious, insecure, and vulnerable.”

Quite versed on love, Gabor admitted at one point that she always “hoped to get a man that was stronger” than she was. “An intelligent woman knows very well that she must have a man to dominate her, to be domineering over her, for her to be happy,” she once said in an interview, according to The Examiner. “A woman still likes a domineering man, a man that tells what to do; that’s how I am, anyway. I only like a domineering man for myself, nobody else will do.”

In a 2005 book titled Eva Gabor An Amazing Woman: Unscrupulous, author Camille Belanger — who was Eva’s assistant for 21 years — accused Zsa Zsa of cheating during all nine of her marriages! “She even had an affair with actor George Sanders — whom she had already married — after George married her older sister Magda.” “I wrote this book because I wanted to set the record straight,” Belanger said in a previous exclusive ENQUIRER interview. Before Francesca's death from a heart attack in 2015, she got in an explosive argument with Gabor's husband at the time, Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, and he forbid her from seeing her ailing mother.
