Action! Woody Allen Ventures Out In New York City
Two things director Woody Allen is known for: delivering a quirky, personal movie every year like clockwork — and rarely venturing out in public. The only thing more rare than a Woody sighting is catching the multiple Oscar-winner out with his family. Here, a frail-looking Woody awkwardly hangs on to adopted daughter Manzie and wife Soon-Yi in New York City.

Woody, who turned 80 years old on Dec. 1, looked more than a little unsteady as he crossed a street wearing his trademark bucket hat. Soon-Yi, 45, opted for a bigger hat, while Manzie, 16, kept her look casual. The couple adopted Manzie in 2000 and has another adopted daughter, Bechet, 17, who opted not to join this sojourn.

The last time Woody was spotted in the Big Apple, he was filming scenes for his latest project — untitled, of course — with Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart back in October. Over the summer he shot some scenes with the duo on the beach in Malibu.

This new project is the first time Woody has shot a movie in New York in 10 years because he had complained that it’s too expensive. The director of such iconic NYC films as “Annie Hall” and “Manhattan” had shifted his focus to Europe, notably shooting in London and Paris. But now he’s back. The cast of his latest also includes Steve Carell and Blake Lively, and is set for release in 2016.
