William Shatner sighting in NYC
William Shatner has been challenged to beam down for a DNA test by a radio talk-show host! The "Star Trek" stud has already been clobbered with a $170 million lawsuit by Peter Sloan — who claims the beloved Captain Kirk became a father in 1956 after his brief affair with 21-year-old Canadian actress Kathy McNeil. Peter went to court against his alleged parent in March 2016. Now he's published a book that blasts Shatner as a dad in denial!

"The Search: How I Met My Father — William Shatner" includes Peter's claim that he tracked down his birth mother in 1984 and recorded a conversation with McNeil's former roommate, who told him that his mother had come to New York City to get an abortion after being impregnated by the future "Star Trek" icon, who was just beginning to break into Canadian television.

The lawsuit filed by Peter in Tampa, Fla., claims that he was finally able to meet Shatner on the set of the "T.J. Hooker" police drama in 1984 (as pictured) — and the star admitted that he “was [the] plaintiff’s father.” But a week later, according to the court documents, William’s rep told him the actor was “totally denying paternity” and refused to take a DNA test.

The rep also warned that Peter “don’t go public” because it could be “horrendous” for William’s career, claim the court papers. Peter began hosting a Tampa radio program using the Shatner name in 2011, and received another letter from William’s lawyer that said: “Bill …confirmed to me once again that he is not your father."

"The Search: How I Met My Father — William Shatner" is Peter's latest attempt to reach out to his dad — although Shatner's representatives continue to deny that the actor is Peter's father, and have also dodged the DNA testing. Meanwhile, Peter is trying to promote his book through social media, but claims that his father has managed to shut down several of his accounts.

As previously reported by The National ENQUIRER, the internet page for Kathy McNeil at iMDB.com once included a “Trivia” note that said: “Kathleen had a son with 'Star Trek' actor William Shatner when they were working together in New York in 1956. They gave the son, Peter, up for adoption shortly after birth.” That listing has since been removed.
