Tori Spelling: Husband Facing Prison Over Debts

Deadbeat dad Dean McDermott leaves broke star scrambling for cash!

Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott was facing jail after failing to pay his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace $110,000 in child support — and only dodged prison after Mary Jo agreed to put her complaint on hold! The disgraceful court dead came just days after Tori gave birth to the couple’s fifth child. Observers reported that Dean was sweating and distressed as he stood before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Colin Leis, who warned the reality TV star: “This is a criminal proceeding. You could get jail time!”

Urged to step outside and work out a compromise, Dean begged Mary Jo to drop the eight contempt of court counts he faced for his deadbeat behavior with regard to their 18-year-old son, and she showed mercy – while reserving the right to re-file the charges if he doesn’t come up with the cash soon. The National ENQUIRER has also learned that the cash-strapped Dean already had told the judge that he’d need a court-appointed public defender if Mary Jo insisted on pressing the case.

The threat of jail time adds new urgency to the desperate cash-flow issues Tori and Dean face — including a fifth mouth to feed. The couple still pays two nannies to watch their brood, and concerned pals tell The ENQUIRER that the spoiled former “90210” star won’t quit splurging on fancy cars, massages, and a glamorous social life. In order to stop the bleeding, Tori extended her contract as a spokeswoman for the Psychic Source services.

That bizarre deal has Tori talking up her regular readings with “psychic advisors,” while sharing her experiences on the Psychic Sources websites. The desperate star, however, insists that she’s seeing a bright future for her and Dean. “We’re doing a great new series,” she insisted, adding: “We’re doing a new show on Cooking Channel, we’re not bankrupt, we’re not struggling — we’re fine!”
