Shannen Doherty Cancer Crisis — Goes Public With Shaving Her Head

Shannen Doherty has shaved her head while continuing her battle against breast cancer — while bravely sharing photos of her shocking new look on social media. The "90210" star went to her Instagram account to show the process — after first posting a cryptic warning of: "Cupcake pan, chocolates and a razor.... Stay tuned."

As previously reported by The National ENQUIRER, Shannen was forced to reveal her breast cancer diagnosis after filing a lawsuit in August 2015. The ENQUIRER obtained a copy of the documents in which she claimed that her business managers had ignored a 2013 invoice for her Screen Actors Guild health insurance premium.

Shannen, 45, bravely embraced her new role as a cancer patient — and even took on Hollywood for blacklisting her after the world learned of her condition. "I think that people think that I'm 'sick,' and therefore I'm unable to perform," said Shannen. "There will be that recovery time, and that I just have to take for myself."

"But it's also because you do change a little bit while you're on the medicine," added Shannen, who The ENQUIRER caught staying in fighting shape with a personal trainer. "You gain weight, and there is nothing that you can do about it … and I think that all affects a career like mine that's not only based on talent, but it's so much based on sort of the superficial shell that is right here."

Shannen had promised to keep her fans updated on her progress — which includes these intimate new photos, with her fashion model friend Anne Kortright-Shilstat stepping in to handle the drastic new styling.

Shannen recently appeared on "The Dr. Oz Show" to announce that she was planning surgery "soon" — and captioned these new photos: "#cancersucks."
