Problems started when the couple — who have four kids ranging in age from 13 to 21 — disagreed over building a bed-and-breakfast. When Ladd suggested it, Ree said, “Let me sleep on it.”

But she admitted, “He broke ground while I was asleep.” After that, the pair fought over details of the eight-room B&B. “I’m not going to paint a rosy picture of husband and wife working perfectly together,” Ree confessed.

“There were definite disagreements, and that is part of why we ended up splitting the building.” Ree designed four rooms and Ladd planned the others. “Things haven’t been the same since their big fight over the hotel,” the insider squealed.

“Their way of handling this stress was to give each other space, but that seems to have made things worse. “Divorce is out of the question. But they need to build back up the trust between them.”
