Prince’s family is going after Dr. Michael T. Schulenberg with a lawsuit accusing him of contributing to the dead rocker’s fatal overdose! The filing made on Aug. 24, 2018, claims that the Twin Cities physician “failed to properly treat the musician as he was suffering from an opioid addiction,” and says that the doctor “had a substantial part in bringing about Prince’s death.” The lawsuit is no surprise to readers of The National ENQUIRER, though, with reporters revealing in May 2017 that Dr. Schulenberg was being probed by the FBI, the DEA and other local authorities. A search warrant was issued in May 2016 at the clinic where Dr. Schulenberg once worked. The physician reportedly told investigators that he saw Prince on April 7, 2016, and also that April 21 — the date of Prince’s death. He also admitted to
having written two Percocet prescriptions for Prince using the name of "Kirk Johnson," which is also the name of a close Prince associate.

The doctor insisted to Det. Chris Nelson of the Carver County Sheriff's Department that "I don’t do things like that. Actually, it is probably the first time I have done anything like that.” Dr. Schulenberg was fined $30,000 in April 2018, and agreed to be monitored by the DEA for the following two years.
