Ree first found fame when she launched her "Pioneer Woman" blog in 2006. Her writings about hard living on the ranch soon landed her a a hit Food Network show in August 2011, followed by three cookbooks and the launch of her first lifestyle magazine. Her retail line at Walmart features bedding, cookware, drinkware, dinnerware and more. But the former city gal never revealed just how good things were when she started out back at the ranch!

Her husband, Ladd Drummond, is a fourth-generation member of a prominent cattle-ranching family, with an estimated net worth of $200 million. With a spread of 433,000 acres on over 675 square miles, the Drummonds rank 23rd on a list of the 100 largest landowners in the United States. The family’s Drummond Land & Cattle Co. has reportedly been paid more than $24 million by the government over the past ten years to protect animals on their vast property in northeastern Oklahoma.
Ree herself was born with a silver spoon in her mouth in affluent Bartlesville, Okla., sources added. “Ree’s the daughter of an orthopedic surgeon and stay- at-home mom,” spilled the insider. “She grew up in a home overlooking a golf course. She never wanted for anything, and hardly had to struggle to make a living.”

Ree graduated from the University of Southern California in 1991, and was planning to attend law school until she met Ladd. They married in 1996, and have two sons and two daughters, ranging in age from 13 to 20. But despite her family fortune — and her own empire valued at $50 million — Ree is amazingly well-loved in her adopted Oklahoma hometown of Pawhuska.

Locals credit her and Ladd with “saving the town” after opening The Pioneer Woman Mercantile, a restaurant and retail store in a 100-year-old building, in late 2016. It now attracts up to 15,000 tourists a day. According to an insider, the couple is quick to help friends in need. “They are a lovely, generous couple,” the insider added. “Everyone appreciates what they do for those who are not in the same position they are!”
