Pamela Anderson has a cameo in the upcoming big-screen "Baywatch" — but fans might not have recognized her when she walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival!

The legendary sex symbol looked elegant in her creased black gown, but had her hair pulled back — and she seemed to have skipped the glamour of makeup for a surprisingly natural look.

It was a very serious trip to Cannes, as well — with Pamela stepping up to accept the Philanthropist Award at the festival's Global Gift Gala, where she declared: 'I never wanted to be an actress. That was a fluke.'

As revealed by The National ENQUIRER, Pamela has been investing most of her time in visiting and supporting superspy leaker and fugitive Julian Assange, who's currently hiding from authorities in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

It was also a big week for Julian, as the international figure — long rumored to also be Pamela's lover — recently learned that Sweden had dropped the rape charges made against him that had the Wikileaks founder seeking asylum in the embassy.

Pamela, meanwhile, was never swayed by the accusations — with The ENQUIRER revealing one love poem where the actress proclaimed: "He’s a good person who cares about the world. Everyone can see what has been done to him is wrong."
