Those unhappy people include the grieving parents of model Reeva Steenkamp. During the recent trial that seemingly shortened Pistorius' prison term, June and Barry Steenkamp took on the grim task of looking at photos of their daughter's corpse. She had been repeatedly shot by her boyfriend on Valentine's Day 2013.

Pistorius claimed that he has mistaken Reeva for an intruder in the house when he fired the four shots. He originally served one year of a five-year manslaughter sentence. The charges were upgraded to murder on appeal — but a guilty sentence only gave him a six-year prison sentence!

Reeva's parents bravely chose the most explicit photos available to release to the public. They explained that they wanted the public to see the full impact of Pistorius' actions. Any impact, however, doesn't seem to have reached the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee.

Pistorius is the biggest name in Paralympics competition — and even raced at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. As declared by Tubby: "If he is out on parole, as it seems he will be before then, and qualifies for selection, then I don’t see how there can be a problem — why not?"
