A bus full of journalists covering the 2016 Olympics were saying they'd been blasted by gunfire while heading to the basketball arena in in Rio de Janeiro. An Olympics spokesman later insisted: "“We don't know yet if the bus was shot, or it was a stone." Witnesses on the bus, however, reported hearing shots as the windows shattered. Miraculously, no one was hurt in the latest troubling embarrassment for the Games!

And just hours after the bus shooting, a bomb disposal unit was rushed to the Copacabana district of Rio. A suspicious package had been reported, with the cops having to destroy it through their own controlled explosion. But the Head of Security in Rio is still insisting that the damage done to the bus was just an "unfortunate" incident of stones being thrown at reporters.

As seen in this video, riot police also had to battle protesters as the Olympics torch made its final stretch to the official lighting ceremony. This latest bizarre incident shows that the poverty-stricken locals are still furious over the sports extravaganza, with several more days to go!
