Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were
savagely murdered outside of her Bundy Drive condo in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles at 12:10 a.m. on June 13, 1994. A bloody leather glove was also found at the crime scene — and a matching bloodstained glove was then found near Kato Kaelin's guest house behind O.J. Simpson's Rockingham Drive estate! But what should have been vital evidence became a nightmare for the prosecution!
The National ENQUIRER once again became a vital part of the 1994 Simpson murder trial by providing more evidence to link the gloves to Simpson. Sharp-eyed ENQUIRER reporters reviewed photographs of O.J. on the sidelines of a Dallas Cowboys/Miami Dolphins NFL game on Thanksgiving Day 1993 — where he was doing commentary

The future disgraced footballer was actually frolicking with his family on the sidelines, joined by the doomed Nicole
and daughter Sydney, 8, plus his 5-year-old son Justin. In an eerie foreshadowing of Nicole's fate, however, The ENQUIRER spotted that O.J. was wearing gloves identical to those that became the focus of a bloody murder case!
ENQUIRER reporters then spotted Simpson once again sporting a pair of gloves suspiciously similar to the gloves that the prosecution was presenting as evidence — this time at the 1994 AFC championship game in Buffalo!

The prosecution had stated that both gloves contained DNA evidence from Simpson and the two victims. Furthermore, the authorities claimed that they could prove Nicole had bought Simpson two pairs of the same glove in in 1990!
The ENQUIRER revealed that FBI specialists had created magnified photos of the murder gloves — along with photos of the gloves worn by O.J. on television! The pairs were identical in three critical areas, an insider told The ENQUIRER. "First, the FBI found a worn spot on the palm of one glove worn by O.J.on the football sidelines. This blemish, caused by his holding the microphone during his commentary, is identical to a spot on one of the murder gloves."

"Second," added the source, "the stitching on the back of the football gloves has unique characteristics that make it identifiable beyond a doubt — and it's identical to the stitching on the murder gloves. Third, there's a cut-out notch on the wrist of both pairs. This notch has unusual characteristics - and the notches match totally!"
"The FBI," revealed the insider during the trial, "says these striking similarities can only mean that the football glove sand the murder gloves are the same pair — pointing the finger right at O.J.!"
But that was before fumbling prosecutor
Christopher Darden was tricked by Simpson defense attorney Johnnie Cochran. Under the goading of Cochran, Darden demanded that Simpson try on the gloves in front of the jury.
Other members of the prosecution remembered that the gloves had been soaked in blood, in addition to having been frozen and unfrozen several times. They knew the pair may no longer fit the original owner — and the jury saw that Simpson had difficulty placing his hands into the gloves.

That would lead to Cochran's infamous declaration of: "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit." Darden would later try to convince Judge Ito that the prosecution could confirm that Simpson had been taking medication that "caused swelling in the joints and inflammation in his hands."
It was too late, though. The jury had already seen O.J. fail to put on the gloves — and that, along with inflammatory racial statements by the detective who originally found the glove on O.J.'s property —
would lead to Simpson walking free!
