Nick Nolte Health Crisis — Soiled Star Wanders Malibu

The National ENQUIRER caught Nick Nolte looking down and out in Malibu — as his friends fear the "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" star has a death wish! The 75-year-old actor was far from his Hollywood glory days as he wandered about a grocery store while looking fresh from taking a dirt nap!

The actor's soiled shirt is sadly typical of Nick's hard living, though — with a lifetime of hard living has the star’s close friends amazed he’s still alive. “Nick always jokes around about how he’s been living on borrowed time for 20 years,” a friend told The ENQUIRER. “But he just refuses to do anything to improve his chances of sticking around!"

At least the actor is clean-shaven as he films the upcoming television series "Graves" — where he plays an ex-President of the United States who's plagued by guilt over his policies. The role could be a comeback for the aging actor, but his pals fear that Nick won't be around to enjoy any good reviews.

Another friend said doctors have told Nick he’s developed kidney and liver problems — “but it’s hard to tell how serious they’ve become because no one can drag him in for follow-up visits!”

The ENQUIRER even reported that Nick had to postpone hip-replacement surgery after he went on a vodka bender in 2014. "He’s still drinking," the insider told The ENQURIER. "He still doesn’t watch what he eats — it’s like he has a death wish!”
