When Leonardo DiCaprio finally won his Oscar for Best Actor in “The Revenant,” he used his acceptance speech to lecture the world while he lives like a king! The actor accepted the 2016 Academy Award and was allowed to ramble on for a while, closing with these words: “Climate change is real — it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating … I thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take this planet for granted.”

A few months later, he made plans to fly celeb pals to France on private jets to hear him give a speech on global warming! Sadly, that's typical of one of Hollywood's most crazed consumers of fossil fuels. Leonardo has spent decades living the high life while only offering lip service to environmental causes. That hypocrisy was most recently exposed during the infamous Sony Studios Email Leaks of 2014 — when
RadarOnline.com caught Leo demanding six private jet flights over a period of just six weeks!

In addition to flying around in private jets that year, Leonardo also spent 2014 buying up lots of real estate. The actor talks a lot about building properties that are environmentally friendly. His modest Hollywood home is pictured here, and Leo's $10 million New York apartment burns up a lot of the electrical power that he wants the little people to preserve!

The National ENQUIRER has also caught
Leonardo enjoying life with a bevy of supermodels onboard plenty of luxury yachts — including a trip to Brazil on the Topaz, which is 482 feet long and ranks as the fifth largest yacht in the world. A boat that big burns a lot of oil with its two 8,000 horsepower diesel engines, but that doesn't matter to Leonardo!

Leonardo didn't mind paying the very expensive rental fee on the Topaz to owner Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan — a sheik who financed his massive craft via a huge oil fortune. In public, however, Leo has declared: "Our planet cannot be saved unless we leave fossil fuels in the ground where they belong!"

Leonardo went on to borrow Hollywood mogul David Geffen's yacht for a trip to the Cannes Film Festival. That cruise only had Leonardo's crew burning thousands of gallons of marine diesel fuel per hour!

But at least Leo didn't make a fool of himself during his Oscars speech like he did while promoting "The Revenant" — when he described experiencing climate change while filming in Canada. "It's terrifying," he said. "There would be eight feet of snow, and then all of a sudden a warm gust of wind would come!" Canadians had a good laugh over that one, pointing out those winds are called "Chinooks" and have been around for centuries. But a guy like Leo doesn't need to know that kind of thing. He has an Oscar!
