Justin had lived with Heidi in NYC for 14 years before dumping her for the former "Friends" star after sparks flew on the set of the big-screen bomb "Wanderlust." Things were getting serious in 2012 when Jennifer found out that Justin and Heidi were secretly staying in touch!

For months, confirmed an insider, Justin, 40, had been "calling, texting and e-mailing Heidi without Jen's knowledge. Another pal added that Jen had no idea until she caught Justin texting Heidi from the Hollywood home that they had just started to share: "In Jennifer's book, what Justin did was cheating. He was going behind her back to maintain ties with his ex. She was furious and read him the riot act!"

One close pal warned at the time that Justin wasn't happy with Jennifer insisting that the couple settle down in Los Angeles: "Jen blamed the paparazzi in New York, but there's even more of them in L.A.. The real reason she moved was because she wants Justin as far away from Heidi as possible."
