Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia De Rossi have figured out a way to stop going at it cats and claws — they’re having a Band-Aid baby!

Pals say the showbiz couple have mended their squabbling ways after agreeing a baby is the perfect fix-it for their stormy marriage! “They’ve been getting along great and acting all excited ever since they decided to go for it,” a spy told The National ENQUIRER — adding that the only hitch is, “Ellen wants to adopt and Portia wants a surrogate!”

So now they’ve made a pact to try both — leading to a new battle of the sexes! The talk-show star would love a boy, while Portia is hoping for a girl. The two gals are so excited, said the source, that they’re designing a nursery in their Beverly Hills home: “They’re buying the crib and other furniture, toys and books to furnish the room!"

"They’re using gender-neutral colors,” dished the source, “since they don’t know yet if they’ll be having a boy or a girl.” Incredibly, the pair were so at odds earlier this year, Portia moved into separate digs in a trial separation. But, said the insider: counseling has changed everything: “Now Ellen and Portia are closer than ever, and can’t wait to welcome a baby into their lives.”
