Dom DeLuise dodged a sex scandal after a bellhop claimed the portly comic groped him in Atlantic City — but The National ENQUIRER found the troubling police report that had him charged for criminal sexual contact! The beloved comic was 60 years old when cops hit him with a summons for repeatedly molesting a 24-year-bellhop at Merv Griffin Resorts hotel/casino in Atlantic City, N.J. The muscular worker claimed that the 300-pound star summoned him to his room five times after midnight on March 25, 1994 — and touched him more and more intimately with each visit. Then, claimed the bellhop, Dom attacked him the next night…

Contacted by The ENQUIRER at his Hollywood home for comment on the alleged assault, Dom had said: "I don't know anything about it." But the startling police report provided graphic detail on the disturbing charges. On the first night, said the bellhop, the hotel's limo dispatcher told him to deliver a bottle of heart medication to Dom, saying the star — performing at the casino — had left it earlier in a car.

"Mr. DeLuise asked me in," the bellhop told police. "After talking a few minutes, he made a comment on my physique and asked if I lifted weights. I advised him that I did, and he approached me and started squeezing the muscle in my upper right arm. He then began to poke at my chest muscle, and he squeezed the muscle above my right knee."

The bellhop told cops the star then handed him a personally autographed postcard. Delighted with the souvenir, he showed it to hotel security officer Ben Steffaneli. The guard warned him to "be careful" around the star, the bellhop said. Steffanelli told police that the bellhop asked him, "Is Dom 'funny'?" The guard replied: "Rumor is, he is."

The next night, Dom reportedly called the bellhop to his room at 1:45 a.m., saying he needed some letters mailed. The bellhop says he "froze" as Dom began touching his chest and thigh muscles while saying, "That's magnificent." At 2:30 a.m., the bellboy claims, he was called back to Dom's room and endured more touching. At 3:30 a.m., Dom sent for the bellhop and touched him again.

Though he felt uncomfortable, the employee explained: "I didn't want to offend Mr. DeLuise in case I was wrong, and jeopardize my job." But the bellhop brought along a security guard when another call came in at 4:15 a.m. When Dom spotted the guard standing in the hallway, police were told, he quickly dismissed the bellhop.

Dom's seduction attempts culminated in a sexual attack at 3:30 a.m. the next night, the bellboy told police. Dom became so sexually aggressive that he turned to flee — but the funnyman latched onto him. "His left hand was pulling my pants off my waistline," the bellhop told police. "As I started for the door, Mr. DeLuise grabbed both my shoulders and held on to them until I opened the door. Then I ran for the elevator."

The bellhop filed his police complaint two days after the alleged attack — and the report also contains police interviews with five other hotel employees who supported the bellboy's account. A security guard who had escorted the star to his dressing room the following day later told police that Dom also fondled him.

In a fortunate turn for the popular comic, however, the case was never pursued — even as the original charges of criminal sexual contact were headed to a possible grand jury. Instead, the married father of three was able to beat a possible jail sentence of up to 18 months in jail. Dom would
later pass away free of scandal on May 4, 2009, at the age of 75.
