Sean “Puffy” Combs and David Bowie are working together on a song for “Training Day,” a film starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. The song titled “American Dream” is actually a Bowie song called “This is Not America” redone to include more of a “techno, hip-hop, funk-type feel” according to Puffy.
Bowie adds his own brand of soul to the track, which he committed to making after seeing the film. He said, “I’d love to get involved…and Sean I think felt much the same – that this looked like a really good piece of work to work on. So we decided to get together and collaborate on it.”
Combs is going to do his “own thing.” “We’re just going to have a big old fusion of flavor,” he said. “And hopefully we’ll make a hit record that represents the movie but…isn’t just for the movie. Where it’s also a hit record. That what the missionis, to make a hit record.”
