David Letterman: This Is A Vacation?

Former late-night TV host David Letterman worked up a sweat jogging again on vacation in St Barts earlier today. Dave, who had a much-publicized brush with death in 2000 when a clogged artery forced him to undergo quintuple bypass surgery, knows his heart health is no laughing matter.

While Dave, 68, is clearly working hard to trim down his gut, the acerbic funnyman has no attention of trimming that unruly beard! “My wife hates it. My son hates it. But it’s interesting. I’ve kind of developed a real creepy look with it that I’m sort of enjoying! And I can tell that people are off-put by it."

But Dave never was one to agonize over the opinion of others. "The more people implore me to shave, the stronger my resolve is to not shave. I know it’s not a good-looking beard. I just don’t care!” And he doesn’t mind using an ancient iPod to listen to his tunes, either!
