Rev. Graham was one of the world's most respected religious figures, and the Southern Baptist minister counseled U.S. presidents ranging from Harry S. Truman to John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, and Barack Obama. Billy finally stepped away from the spotlight in his later years, but insiders told The National ENQUIRER that he died “very much at peace” — after “having a vision of heaven that reaffirmed his faith and hope.”

The evangelist’s late wife, Ruth, played a key role in the incredible interlude, said a family friend. Billy told insiders that he had received a visitation from Ruth that finally eased his heartbreak over her passing at age 87 in 2007. “Billy said she was so real he could almost touch her,” the friend reported.

“She looked at peace and was absolutely beautiful,” continued the insider. “She told him heaven was paradise. It was everything they had ever dreamed. But most of all, she told him they would soon be together.” Ruth’s comforting words “put him at peace,” noted the insider. “He said see- ing her again was like a miracle.”

Billy initially never recovered from Ruth’s death — with his own health going into sharp decline from Parkinson's disease after her passing. “Losing Ruth really sapped him of his strength,” the source added shortly before Billy's death — adding that seeing Ruth brought him peace, put him at ease and readied him for his journey to heaven: “Sadly, for us, he’s ready to go now and be with God and his wife for eternity.”
