Big Ang — The Reality Star’s Heartbreaking Final Minutes

Angela Raiola — the reality star who was beloved as Big Ang from "Mob Wives" — passed away this morning after a year-long battle with cancer. The beloved Staten Island bar owner (here in her final moments with niece Sonnie Detore) was surrounded by family and friends, as seen in hospital photos that show Ang in her final hours.

A family insider told RadarOnline.com about the heartbreaking scene — saying: "Everyone was crying. She was in her death bed last night. I'd never seen her like that."

Radar also revealed that Big Ang's estranged husband Neil Murphy was at Ang's side as she took her last breaths. "Neil was there," the source said. "He stayed the whole time and until the end."

Publicist and friend Vinnie Medugno announced that Big Ang had "peacefully ended her battle with cancer and was called home."

Big Ang's niece, Sonnie, wrote in tribute: "Even bald, you were a star. You were in the room when I was born, and from that day on you became my second mommy. When I seen you laying in the hospital bed, my heart broke in half. You were strong, and I always loved that about you."

Angela — who was popular enough to have two spinoff shows from "Mob Wives" — revealed in March 2015 that she had a tumor in her throat. She was feeling upbeat about her recovery after an operation to remove the tumor and lymph nodes. But it was reported in December that the cancer had returned, and that her new diagnosis signaled a tragic end for the reality star.
