Trans-tastic! Male-To-Female Supermodel Andreja Peijic Shows Off Her Gender-Bending Bod on Beach
Australian model Andreja Pejic emerges from the surf in a white-hot red triangle bikini while on a New Year’s vacation in Miami Beach, Fla. Andreja, 24, was born a male in Bosnia and Herzegovina before transitioning and becoming the top transgender model in the world.

Andreja made her bones in the fashion world as both a male and female model, thanks to a naturally androgynous look that allowed her to look great in designs for men and women, such as Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture and menswear lines in 2012. Her genderless look was an interesting enigma, and some in the industry advised against transitioning because it would spoil her mystery and make her just another pretty girl. One agent actually told her, “It's better to be androgynous than a tranny.”

Back in February, Andreja made her debut on the catwalk as a woman following a year spent undergoing gender-reassignment surgeries and procedures.
“There was definitely a lot of, ‘Oh, you’re going to lose what’s special about you. You’re not going to be interesting anymore. There are loads of pretty girls out there,’” she told a fashion magazine last year. "It is about showing that this is not just a gimmick,” she has said of her decision.

Melbourne-raised Andreja flaunted her alabaster skin and makeup-free beauty as she marched her stunning 6-foot-1 frame out of the waves with her honey-blonde hair slicked back. She described herself as living "in between genders" before her transition last year. Now the babe from Down Under is on top of the fashion world.
