Kudos to KIEFER SUTHERLAND, who played Good Samaritan to a drunk who kept insisting he was okay to drive after exiting Hollywood’s Piano Bar.
The “24” star, who’s drinking less and enjoying it more these days – and wisely employs a full-time chauffeur – had just walked outside to climb in his limo when he spotted the way-too-high guy arguing with an attendant, who kept begging him NOT to drive.
Kiefer, ever mindful of his vow that he’d never make a “dumb mistake” again after 30 days in jail for DUI in 2008, walked over and talked to the guy for about 15 minutes – finally persuading him to accept a lift home.
After driving nearly 45 minutes out of his way, Kiefer and the driver helped the drunk to his door – but when the guy’s wife opened up, she wrongly assumed they were drinking buddies and read them the riot act!
Kiefer tried to explain, but the woman – proving no good deed goes unpunished – kept right on ranting, so the star threw up his hands, hopped in his ride and split!
