Snarky-sexy SARAH SILVERMAN told a pal she had no initial guilt about her headline-making VMA jokes about BRITNEY SPEARS and her “adorable mistakes,” etc., figuring the star was big enough to handle it – but suddenly had second thoughts when she eyeballed glassy-eyed, messed-up Bayou Bimbette backstage! “I was going to apologize, but she looked so completely out of it, I didn’t try,” said Sarah.
But her concern turned to anger when friends told her the pathetic popster – who’s blamed everyone but Osama bin Laden for her booze-fueled “comeback” debacle – was babbling that she overheard Sarah rehearsing her jokes and got so rattled she blew the gig. Furious Sarah snapped to her pal: “She did NOT overhear me – because I never rehearsed! Nobody heard those jokes!”
