And I don’t know what my mother saw in him in the first place. And as a matter of fact, I don’t know what my mother saw in MY father, Muhammad Ali, either. My father is trying to take credit for my boxing career — but he had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with my career. Let’s be clear about that!” Mourners sat stunned for several minutes after this outburst from Laila — who’s known to resent her womanizing dad for leaving her alone as a child.
