DUDE, IT’S “WHEN IN ROME”…NOT “DEATH WISH!” Shooting his cutesypoo new Disney romcom flick “When in Rome” with kupcake KRISTEN BELL, JOSH DUHAMEL drove the flick’s director nuts when he suddenly flicked his testosterone switch to “STUN” and went all macho/stud – insisting on performing a dangerous stunt scene where his character gets slammed by a speeding car, rockets back into the windshield and rolls off the hood!
“Let the stuntman do it,” raged the director after Death Wish Duhamel blew the scene THREE TIMES because he kept missing the windshield.
Bruised but unbowed, sucker-for-punishment Josh protested: “No, no, no, I can do this! Please…just one more take!” Sighing, the director waved off the professional stuntman waiting on the sidelines and cranked the camera again, yelling…“ACTION!”
Incredibly, Josh nailed the scene – flying up and hitting the windshield when the car nailed him – but he slammed it so hard, he cracked the glass and injured his shoulder.
Medics came running, but the injury turned out to be more painful than serious. Sucking it up, Jurassic Josh chuckled manfully: “I’m a klutz…I’m always hitting something.”
But SuperStud wasn’t giggling when furious wife FERGIE, who’d heard about loverboy’s bonehead dude-ism from an on-set spy (yes, Momma’s watchin’ you, bad boy!), phoned and ripped him a new one for serial stupidity!
