DREW CAREY HOSPITALIZED

description

Comedian Drew Carey, star of the ABC sitcom of the same name, was admitted into an L.A. area hospital on Friday after suffering chest pains the day before.

Carey was released on Saturday, after a successful procedure to unblock a coronary artery. Doctors installed a stent — a mesh tube that is used to hold an artery open after an angioplasty.

Christina Papadopoulos, Carey’s publicist, said of the Friday night procedure, “It was very successful and he’s feeling fine. He was joking and his usual jovial self.”

Carey is expected to return to work next week.
