24, OFFICE WIN AT EMMYS

24 was named outstanding drama and The Office was named outstanding comedy series at the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday. Kiefer Sutherland (24) and Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) won the dramatic leading actor and actress categories. Tony Shalhoub (Monk) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine) took home the awards for the lead actor and actress in a comedy series respectively. Conan O’Brien hosted the show, which honored the late Aaron Spelling and featured a rare appearance by Dick Clark. Barry Manilow performed on the show and also won for outstanding individual performance in a variety or music program.
