Former “7th Heaven” star Jeremy London broke his wife’s nose in a brutal beating that occurred while she was holding their 19-month-old son, she claims in shocking court papers.
The vicious assault is just one of many that Melissa Cunningham says she suffered at the hands of the actor.
“I am very afraid for my safety and the safety of our son,” Melissa said in documents obtained by The ENQUIRER.
Melissa, 37, who’s been married to 35-year-old Jeremy for two years, says that he is abusing morphine, Vicodin, OxyContin, Xanax, Lexipro, marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and heroin.
“Jeremy is stable when he’s not high, but when he goes off on one of his drug and alcohol binges, he turns into a violent madman,” charged a source close to the couple.
In the papers Melissa filed last month in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, she describes her estranged husband as an out-ofcontrol drug abuser.
She details savage abuse that occurred in front of their toddler. Melissa recalls an August 2007 incident in which she alleges Jeremy slammed a car door so hard in a fit of rage that the window shattered just inches from where their son, Lyrik, was strapped into his car seat.
In another incident, Melissa says she left Lyrik with Jeremy to go grocery shopping and returned to find him “intoxicated and taking prescription drugs at the same time.”
Melissa claims Jeremy dropped the child, but she managed to catch him before he hit the floor. When she tried to leave, she says Jeremy “jumped up and knocked me around. He kicked me in the stomach with our son in my arms.”
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has issued a restraining order against the actor, ordering him to stay at least 100 yards away from Melissa and her home. Jeremy was slapped with a restraining order in 2004 after being arrested for throwing Melissa out of his car on the side of a California freeway and kicking and beating her. When contacted by The ENQUIRER to comment on Melissa’s allegations, Jeremy’s rep did not respond. Melissa also would not comment.
“Jeremy has barged into Melissa’s home on several occasions – high out of his mind on drugs and in a complete rage – and has ransacked the home,” charges the source. Melissa is asking for sole custody of their son.
