Zac Efron never forgave Shia La Beouf for dissing him big time! And vice versa!
Rival movie hunks are locked in a bitter feud over everything from women to jealousy over their careers!
The High School Musical star and the Transformers actor have been bad-mouthing each other since 2006 when they battled over the lead role in the sci-fi movie Jumper, say sources.
“Zac really wantedthe role, and he felt that Shia sabotaged him with producers – calling him a ‘pretty boy’ and bragging that he was a better actor,” explained an insider.
Both lost the role to Hayden Christensen, but “Zac never forgave Shia for dissing him,” said the source.
The animosity grew in 2007 when Steven Spielberg overlooked Zac when casting the coveted role of Indy’s son in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Spielberg went straight to Shia.
“Zac felt that was the part that would have turned him into an instant A-list movie star,” confided the insider.
But the competition between the actors goes beyond the big screen – they’ve also competed for the same women.
Last summer, when ultra-sexy actress Megan Fox was on a break from her relationship with actor Brian Austin Green, she shared an intimate dinner with Zac at the romantic Pace restaurant in Los Angeles.
“Shia was envious beyond belief,” said the insider. “He’s had a crush on Megan since they made the first Transformers film in 2006,” said the insider.
“Shia felt that Zac was not only always horning in on his film roles, but that he was taking his dream woman as well.”
Despite the bad blood, it seems like each wants what the other has, says the insider.
“Shia would love to be a musical star who is a great athlete and dancer – and Zac would love to be an action star like Shia.”
