WYCLEF JEAN DEATH THREATS

description

Musician turned politico WYCLEF JEAN says he has gone into hiding because of escalating death threats.

While awaiting the Haitian government’s decision on whether or not Jean can run for president of the earthquake ravaged nation, Jean has gone underground

"Wyclef has been repeatedly getting anonymous threats from people who are saying that he should think twice before running for the president," his lawyer Bill Dotirce said.

"We cannot tell who are sending these threats, but the closer the announcement, the more threats Jean is getting."

The former Fugees frontman is a divisive figure in Haiti and it may cost him his life, pals fear.

POP FYI: At the  Woodstock 1999 concert , Jean paid homage to 1969 Woodstock legend Jimi Hendrix by setting fire to his guitar after playing "The Star-Spangled Banner" – and promptly burnt his fingers doing so.
