WORST-DRESSED LISTER DEAD

description

Fashionista gadfly Mr. Blackwell who’s worst-dressed list humiliated celebs for years has died at 86.

Blackwell passed from complications of an intestinal infection, his flack revealed.

Richard Blackwell
was a little-know frock designer when he issued his first tongue-in-cheek, poison pen list of Hollywood fashion disasters – years before "wardrobe malfunction" became part of the gossip landscape.

He began his career a fledgling kid actor appearing in the original production of Dead End on Broadway, making many non- billed appearances in juvie dramas.

"The list is and was a satirical look at the fashion flops of the year," Blackwell revealed in an interview 1998. "I merely said out loud what others were whispering."

Among the celebs lack of fashion sense that made the Worst Dressed list were Zsa Zsa Gabor, Liz Taylor, Princess Diana, Brit and Posh. In 1992 he sued Johnny Carson for claiming he added Mother Teresa to the list.  He hadn’t.

Blackwell leaves his biting legacy to snarky red carpet event hosts.
