TED DANSON only recently joined the “CSI” cast but is already throwing his weight around – vowing to boost the show’s faltering ratings, say sources.
“Ted has been giving the actors instructions, making script changes and even ordering around the craft food service people,” a close source told The ENQUIRER.
“He feels he’s the one who’s going to revive this show – and he doesn’t care if he steps on toes to do it.”
“CSI” was once the champ of TV dramas – once boasting 26 million viewers plummeted last season to 13 mill viewers.
Meantime, former “Cheers” star Danson, one of TV’s best-loved actors, was hired to inject new life into the series, which preems tomorrow night, revealed a friend.
“Ted is used to being a winner on TV, and he sees himself on ‘CSI’ to engineer a rebirth – not preside over a funeral,” explained a friend. “He would never have agreed to be on the show just to watch it limp along toward cancellation.”
Still, the “CSI” cast isn’tused to taking orders from a “newbie”.
“It’s like there is a new sheriff in town,” said the close source.
“Ted is not only demanding of himself, he wants all of the other actors to step up their game. Some of them figure they already know what they’re doing but Ted is like, ‘Hey, I’m helping you to keep your job.’ ”
