Richard Gere’s divorce to estranged wife, actress Carey Lowell, has exploded in hate!

The warring couple are in a nasty fight over property in Bedford, N.Y., sources told The National ENQUIRER.

At the center of the dispute is the Bedford Post Inn, a luxury bed-and-breakfast the couple converted from a farmhouse.

The hotel, which features a yoga and tai chi meditation loft, is the actor’s “pride and joy,” a source said. Richard created the logo for the inn featuring his beloved grandfather, Albert Gere, who was a dairy farmer.

“Carey lovingly put her touches on the place, working tirelessly with Richard to bring it to life, but now he’s trying to remove every trace of her,” – right down to taking her photo out of the inn brochure!” the source divulged. The ENQUIRER obtained one of the last remaining inn brochures depicting the couple in happier times.“Richard is fighting her for the property, but in the meantime, she’s refusing to budge from their $4.5 million country estate.

“Carey is intent on living there with the couple’s 14-year-old son, Homer.”

In October, the couple appeared in court to initiate divorce proceedings over his $100 million fortune, custody issues and a division of assets.

“While they’re great parents to their son, they want nothing to do with each other. It’s turned very nasty!” the insider said.
