Easy Rider costar Peter Fonda desperately wants to say goodbye to longtime pal Dennis Hopper but the terminal iconoclast is now too ill to speak.
Fonda who played "Captain America" in the iconic 1960s counter-culture landmark has contacted Hopper several times but to no avail.
As The ENQUIRER reported previously Hopper is in the final throes of a terminal prostate cancer prognosis.
"Unfortunately, Dennis is dying. It’s just terrible," Fonda said.
"I’ve called him now literally more than a dozen times, and I can’t talk to him because he’s too tired. He’s wrecked. He’s fighting this cancer that he has been fighting for 10 years and I feel sorry for him.
"I hope he gets another year, so he gets enough strength so I can go in to him and shake his hand and kiss him on the head and say, ‘It’s been a hell of a ride, Dennis. It’s been a hell of a ride.’"
