Disgraced two time presidential loser JOHN EDWARDS‘ shocking DUI cover-up.
Just when his love child scandal was quieting down, Edwards was stopped by police after a boozy night of partying in late March in North Carolina, say sources.
But the wily politician managed to engineer a cover-up – until The ENQUIRER got on the case.
"John was the passenger in the car of an unidentified woman he had picked up at one of the local bars," an insider told The ENQUIRER.
"John had been drinking a lot of white wine and asked the woman to drive.
"She apparently had a couple of drinks herself and swerved the car a bit."
Police pulled them over, but Edwards, who wanted to avoid trouble, used his best Southern charm to hush it up, the insider revealed.
