MY THREE SONS STAR DON GRADY DEAD

DON GRADY who played ROBBIE DOUGLAS on classic TV show MY THREE SONS has died after battling cancer at 68.

Grady, who was born Don Louis Agrati, first appeared on the original Mickey Mouse Club in the serial "The Adventures of Spin and Marty".

Grady, who hailed from San Diego was 13 when he began working for Walt Disney’s kidvid classic as an unbilled character named "Don". He became an offical Mousketeer during its third season.

Don also appeared in many TV series including Wagon Train, The Rifleman, Have Gun Will Travel, Dick Powell’s Zane Grey Theater, Love, American Style and The FBI.

Grady's biggest success came in 1960 when he was cast as middle son Robbie Douglas on the long-running TV show My Three Sons which starred Fred MacMurray as dad Stephen Douglas.

After Robbie Douglas grew to young manhood and married on the show, My Three Sons finally ended its long run in 1972.

Don then pursued a career in music, recording an LP of his original material on the Elektra label titled Homegrown as well as the score for Blake Edwards film Switch and the Theme for The Phil Donahue Show.

Grady also starred in a national tour in Pippin, and had roles in the stage productions of Godspell and Damn Yankees.

He had recently been composing soundtracks for Lifetime and The Disney Channel and for theme parks.

Don is survived by his dear friends and cathode ray brothers Chip and Ernie Douglas–  Stanley and Barry Livingston.

“My dear friend and TV brother Don Grady passed away today,” co-star Barry Livingston posted . "He was an inspiration to me in so many ways."
