Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol announced her return engagement in a celeb fan mag to ex-fiance Levi Johnston, "We got engaged two weeks ago. It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents."
"It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be. Hopefully she will jump on board," Bristol said hopefully to the mag.
Bristol and Levi had been briefly engaged when Sarah was GOP-VP candidate, but both got cold feet two weeks after the birth of their son Tripp in December of 2008. They reconnected three months ago while working out a custody plan for their 18-month-old son.
The Wasilla love birds say they want to get married ASAP but have not set a date. And guess what? Abstinence advocate Bris says no nookie until the deal is sealed.
Sarah and Todd Palin released a statement to The Today Show, reacting to the "surprise" engagement, commenting:
"Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what’s best for our children.
"Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives."
AND political insiders believe that a united family front is what’s called upon to woo new acolytes before Sarah throws her inevitable hat into the ring for the 2012 Presidential Campaign.
