“This is Spinal Tap” and “Laverne and Shirley” star MICHAEL McKEAN struck by cab in Manhattan — rushed to hospital in critical condition!
McKean, 64, who played Lenny on “Laverne & Shirley” was crossing the street on West 86th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side when a car barreled into him, witnesses said.
Paramedics saw that he was gushing blood from a head wound and rushed him by ambulance to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in critical condition.
McKean's status has now been degraded to stable with a broken leg with multiple faciall lacerations.
His rep told media that McKean should recover.
“Hopefully, he’ll be fine – it’s pretty devastating.”
McKean was due to return to the Broadway stage tomorrow night in a production of Gore Vidal’s play “The Best Man” before the horrific accident.
“It’s the first time he’s ever missed a curtain his entire life,” McKean’s rep said.
McKean’s wife actress Annette O’ Toole ("Smallville") has jetted into NY from Los Angeles to be by her husband’s side.
