George Clooney is still struggling to work things out with wife Amal — who’s demanding her husband quit riding motorcycles after the aging stud cheated death in a nasty accident!
But the free-wheeling hunk refuses to throttle down, and now the two are at each other’s throats!
Insiders say Amal flipped out when George cracked his noggin on a Mercedes’ windshield after the car pulled in front of his scooter on the Italian island of Sardinia.
“Word is Amal told George she wants him to stop riding his bikes for her and their twins,” said an insider.
“In her mind, this is a sure sign his hobby is too dangerous.”
The actor was zipping along at 60 mph when the car cut him off. He was hurled 20 feet into the air and smacked his helmet into the windshield, shattering the glass and his skid lid!
He was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
Now Amal’s demand “could turn into a major source of contention between them,” added the insider.
“Keeping Amal happy is important to George, but he’s a bike nut, and he’ll look at this as a small blip after years of riding — and no reason to give it up forever!”
