The gold medalist was busted online when Star Magazine splashed pics of the fishman using a bong to toke Mary Jane at a party while partying at University of South Carolina, Nov. 6.
"He looked just as natural with a bong in his hand as he does swimming in the pool," a source divulged. "He was the gold medalist of bong hits."
UK tab News of the World also reported that Phelp’s reps offered cash and the swimmer to write a health column if the paper ceased from running the high flying pix.
Phelps who’s been a bad boy since emerging from his chlorine triumph at Bejing apologized to the world for being a 23-year-old and having acted "in a youthful and inappropriate way."
