EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: “All I want is to know for sure that she is mine, and to do what is right for my baby” as redneck reality clan won’t let ‘maybe’ daddy see child as the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” clan is keeping its newest family member – baby Kaitlyn – away from her daddy!
That’s the claim of 19-year-old Caleb Clark of Griffin, Ga., who dated Anna “Chickadee” Shannon for two years. He firmly believes he’s the father of her month-old girl, who was born with two right thumbs.
Caleb says that not only have Anna and her mom, redneck matriarch June Shannon, kept him from seeing his daughter, they’re refusing to allow him to have a DNA test done to establish paternity!
The heartbroken teen, who’s working toward a career in law enforcement, revealed exclusively to The ENQUIRER that he was only able to see the baby for a few minutes the day after her July 26 birth – and he shared with us the few photos he has of that tender first meeting.
“Kaitlyn is my daughter – I believe that with all my heart,” Caleb insisted. “All I want is to know for sure that she is mine, and to do what is right for my baby.”
Anna, 18, is the oldest sister of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” breakout star Alana Thompson. The outspoken 7-year-old and her ragtag family of hillbilly misfits have become overnight sensations since the Aug. 8 premiere of their TLC reality show.
Caleb says he had every intention of marrying his high school sweetheart Anna until he received a devastating e-mail in which she confessed to cheating.
“I kinda had sex with someone the week before we did, but I trusted him to wear a condom, but I don’t think he did, and that’s what scares me,” Anna wrote. She then said she wasn’t sure if the baby she was carrying was his. “I lost all trust in her after that and broke up with her,” Caleb said. “But in my heart, I am still sure that baby is mine.
“My dad walked out on me and my mom when I was a baby and I was adopted (by his stepfather). I don’t want her to be one of those people whose mommy tells them, ‘Your daddy wasn’t there for you.’”
Caleb says he doesn’t have the money to pay for an attorney to pursue DNA testing and believes Anna is refusing to have it done because she’s afraid he’ll get custody if he’s proven to be the father.
But according to Caleb, Anna – whom he calls a “gold digger” – said she’d only agree to a DNA test if he would quit his job and join the show!
“I don’t want to do that,” he said. “I don’t want to be part of that circus.
“If I have to work seven days a week to come up with the money to prove Kaitlyn is mine, I will.
“All I want is to get her out of that house and away from that family.”
