EVA LONGORIA STANDS ACCUSED

description

With Desperate Housewives yet to be renewed due to contract negotiations and her wrist now tat free of ex-hubby TONY PARKER, EVA LONGORIA stands accused – of usury!

Longoria’s partner in her restaurant BESO has accused Longoria of usury – which is defined as the lending of money with an exorbitant interest rate (much like loan sharking) – in a $1 million loan for the Vegas nightclub.

Beso filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy 2 weeks ago, according to legal docs filed in court.

In a complaint filed in L.A. Superior Court, Mali Nachum, Eva’s partner, claims that Longoria loaned Beso $1 million in 2006 for 2 years at 8 percent.

He alleges in the suit Longoria also got 23.3% of Beso for the loan, in violation of California usury laws.

According to the Las Vegas Sun,  Beso LLC listed debts of $5.7 million and assets of $2.5 million in its bankruptcy filing.

The Sin City tab also reported that Longoria owns 32 percent of Beso.

Longoria is listed as a creditor, "owed $375,000 for legal fees paid on behalf of Beso and another $1 million for a cash loan.

In the complaint filed in Los Angeles, Mali Nachum claimed he didn’t learn until December 2010 that the 23.3% percent ownership that Longoria allegedly obtained  — along with interest on the loan –was usurious under California law.

When they made the deal on the loan, Nachum claimed, Longoria’s membership interest was worth about $4.6 million.

Both Longoria and Nachum have filed dueling motions and counterclaims accusing the other of mismanagement.

Neachum is asking for $4 million in damages and costs.
