Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer — once considered a potential presidential candidate before resigning over hiring hookers — was accused on Saturday of choking a woman in a $1,000 a night hotel suite!
It’s the latest humiliation for the prostitute-crazed politician, whose marriage survived his hooker scandal before breaking up over an affair with a political consultant who was 23 years younger than the 56-year-old horndog!
Cops arrived at Spitzer’s room at the ritzy Plaza Hotel after a woman named Svetlana Travis made an emergency call to report that she’d slashed her wrists.

Police arrived to the bloody scene, and said that Svetlana told the arriving medics that Spitzer had choked her and threatened her after she had told the former governor that she was returning to her native Russia.
The NYPD has confirmed that the incident is still under investigation — and Spitzer’s spokeswoman, Lisa Linden, insisted: “There is no truth to the allegation.”
Spitzer resigned his position as governor in 2008 after call girl Ashley Alexandra Dupré — who The National ENQUIRER would also later find linked to Hollywood bad boy Charlie Sheen — was revealed to be one of several prostitutes frequented by the former crusading Attorney General.

He left office as reports confirmed that he was part of the upscale and very private Emperors Club, where top-class call girls charged huge fees — amongst claims that Spitzer had spent up to $80,000 on visits with the ladies of the night!
His wife Silda stood by him, but the marriage came to an end after Eliot was caught having an affair in 2013 with Lis Smith — who, ironically enough, was known as a spin doctor who helped get politicians out of scandals!
