At age 6, Drew Barrymore was already a Hollywood pro — she tried to LIE her way into a great role!
To impress director ∫ during her “Poltergeist” audition, little Drew told him she was a drummer in a rock-and-roll band called the Purple People Eaters, had a family full of brothers — and was an accomplished “prodigy” cook!
“I sold myself and told my little stories,” she admits.
But it turns out she couldn’t fool the master, who saw through her fibs and refused to give her the job.
But Steven did come away impressed. He later cast her in “E.T.” — and grew to love Drew so much he became her godfather!
